The Lake Anna Water Trail

Our shop at High Point Marina offers access to the starting point of the Lake Anna Water Trail, a 3.25 mile, round trip paddle that follows the undeveloped shoreline and coves of Lake Anna State Park on the first half and then cross the lake and brings you to Lake Anna Taphouse and eventually back to the starting point. Our kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are an affordable way to enjoy the lake and the Lake Anna Water Trail is a great adventure.

Fall Paddling Season

As we slip into fall here at Lake Anna we welcome your paddling reservation to enjoy the leaf viewing season, especially along the Lake Anna Water Trail. We rent our craft by appointment/online reservation through October and maintain limited hours on weekends, so be sure and use our Book Now button on the Home page or call to see about your rental request. Fall can be a delightful time to paddle Lake Anna, with reduced boat traffic, more pleasant air temperatures and a colorful background to enjoy with friends and family.

Lake Anna Water Trail

Many of our visitors come to paddle over to the nearby undeveloped sections of Lake Anna State Park (1/2 mi. by water from the shop) and then paddle across the lake to Lake Anna Taphouse for refreshments and a meal. We’re happy to introduce the new Lake Anna Water Trail that incorporates the most common path for our paddlers and names the landmarks including Kayakers’ Beach, Skinny Dipper’s Cove, Bohemian Bay and the final leg over to the Tap House. The entire trail is approximately 3.5 miles so it is easily completed by most paddlers. On a quiet morning you’ll often see herons, eagles, ospreys, loons, various ducks, perhaps even the resident otter family. Check out the map here and make plans to join us this fall by using the Book Now button on the Home Page.
